Have a few problems with the following :

Hello people , i’m having several issues i will apoint next , for starters i’m playing Soul Axiom game , and the only way to play it is using geometrical 3d rendering , but when i use it idk why but i see some textures like floating out of place , for example when i see a led tv (or a rectangle to say things simple) the texture or image of this tv is floating out of place , happens with many other things like lamps , holograms , etc.

Second problem with soul axiom , i see the floor and many textures waaay too dark , like way too obscure i pumped up all the ingame brightness and gamma with no results on the rift, it still looks dark and many times i can’t see where to go because im blinded by the darkness in game

And the third problem is with Alien isolation at the moment. If i remember correctly i can only play with geometrical or without it , but when i play with geometrical rendering there is this weird bug where in one eye i see shadows and in the other eye i see no shadows , so the images override each other , or something like that.

Are there any fixes for this issues?
Thanks a lot in advance guys

Not really the place to post this, but there’s a sale for Elder Scrolls Online ($14.99 on Dlgamer.us) and crowns (40% discount on the official website) up until the 25th.

That’s weird. The ENB Injector works for me with Skyrim, on my Rift. I do have a problem like you have where I sometimes hear the startup noises but the game displays nothing and I have to restart it, but otherwise it’s no worse than any other modded Skyrim install.

That said, I found I had to turn off ENB effects altogether because there were too many weird artifacts in VR and the 3D didn’t look very good. I’m really just using it for the memory manager at this point.

Oooh… I’d never even thought of trying FEAR. Though it scared me enough playing at 2am on my monitor when it first came out that I’m not sure I want to risk it in VR :).

It was working fine for me too before.I’m trying to figure out if is a permission issue, as I tried to change too many things when I had a conflict between mod organizer and vorpx that Ralf fixed for me.

What do you have on allow for the injector?

Might be a oculus bug maybe, since I did reinstall the software recently and before I never had to relaunch at least 3 times the game for it to work and not be stuck on “tesv is taking too long to load”.

Yes i think the same. But Ralf shoud provide better documentation about how each “supported” game performs. It would be better for everybody, especially for the players so that they can pick their games amongst the best supported ones and know in advance if there’s any issue or limitations with the other. So nobody would be disappointend wasting time or money. My opinion is Vorpx works GREAT witha good number of games and “not so great” with many others. I think the “great” ones should clearly stand out from the others, also in terms of set up hints. Also, it should be made clear that to “match” native VR, a VR-Ready hardware is mandatory.

I’m just using the default settings for the injector. I can take a look tonight and see what they are.

@markocova

As I read on one russian site, Deepoon Assistant 1.5.1.10 install old Oculus drivers (of 0.8 SDK) as in-pack part which not allow to play CV1 games. Recomendation is installing 1.3.2.10 (I guess there are no any OR drivers included, so no conflicts).

Let me translate installing step-by-step guide from there for you and other deepoon owners. That way completly works for me.

It shoud works on all windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10

0) I recommend to uninstall deepoon, oculus software (also runtime) and they drivers from device manager. Maybe it’s good to clean Windows Registry using tool like ccleaner. It is not from guide, but it clear I think.

1) Install last Runtime with Oculus Home.
Web istaller https://www3.oculus.com/en-us/setup/
Skip all setup procedures, but make sure that OR software and drivers is up to date. Also you need to make OR account. Just register. Use PIN 1234, for example.
2) When installing process is done, go to Device Manager. You should see Rift DK2 Senson with warning icon. Delete this one WITH DRIVER! Deepoon haven’t positional sensor as original DK2.
3) Plug Deepoon device to yout PC. (HTMI + USB)
4) Now install Deepoon Assistant 1.3.2.10 . It’s very important! Do not install last Deepoon Assistant 1.5.1.10 because it’s provide build-in old DK2 drivers from 0.8 Runtime which not allow to play CV1 games.
Deepoon Assistant 1.3.2.10: http://static.vrbig.com/deepoon_assistant/DPNAssistant_V1.3.2.10.rar

5) Reboot your PC
6) Run Oculus Home, make sure Deepoon light indicator is blue (not red). Oculus Home message you that DK2 unsupported – do not worry, it’s ok. Just close blue message block. In Deepoon you can see a warning about DK2. Just press A button on your gamepad.
7) Author also recommend to install LibOVRWrapper 1.2. https://github.com/kalavaras/LibOVRWrapper/releases/download/v1.2/LibOVRWrapper-1.2.zip (run bat file as administrator)
That Wrapper allow to play OR games uses old 0.6+ runtimes.

8) And yes, don’t forget allow to running games from unknown sourses. (Check Oculus Home settings: Settings/General/Unknown Sources )

Done.

After that guide I tryed to start “Start vorpX”, and then “vorpX Desktop Viewer” (just test) and they work. Then I tryed to play Alien Isolation, seems all are OK.

Goodluck!

Hi dennis , nice walkthrough , have you had a problem with shadows in alien isolation? like having in one eye shadows and in the other one no shadows which makes it override each other and makes up for a really bad image in deepoon e2? if you had this problem, how did you fix it ? Thanks a lot

When I first tried injector I had all sorts of issues. I don’t have a direct answer for you, but I would say to first do a completely fresh reload of Skyrim and ONLY SKSE, the crash fix/memory patches, the standard unofficial bug fix patch and then get Sky running on your monitor with Injector/ENBoost. Troubleshoot it there and get it running flawlessly.

THEN take it into VorpX. There is a TON of things that can go haywire so it’s best to start fresh and methodically eliminate/localize issues.

Then mod from there.

IPD is entirely handled by the OpenVR (Vive) / Oculus (Rift) runtimes in recent vorpX versions. vorpX uses the values provided by the runtime like native apps.

If you have trouble to converge the images (may be the case in Geometry 3D games), try to reduce the “3D-Strength/Separation” option in the vorpX ingame menu. Be aware though that this also alters the percieved scale of the world.

You could try a copy of another DX11 Unreal engine game profile (e.g. Bioshock Infinite). No guarantee that this will work, but always worth a try.

Hello, that’s my first post although I playing with Vorpex for a while now 🙂

So I manage to set up Skyrim with a satisfying level of smoothness and details what took me a while but the effects are great G3D 1920X1440, AA x4, Anisotropic X8 directly through nvidia driver, shadows low and rest off settings on ULTRA. With that settings game running between 40 and 60 fps in outeriors (although I haven’t been in any other town than Riverwood so far) and never bellow 85 in interiors.

Thanks for rich base of Skyrim modes I manage to reposition and rescale all HUD elements so they would be visible without using Edge Peak to often.

The last problem I’ve got is caused by being unable to rescale SkyUI inventory menu. I can do it using build in Vorpex settings, but then whenever I press Edge peak, inventory menu going back to standard size. Why would I want change the size of any menu in Edge peak mode? Well when I looking at the item in top left corner and then moving my had to see its statistics in bottom right corner mouse cursor moving together with my head and it just getting on my nerves when I have to choose it again, and again, and again. It causing me to continuously wearing, buying and selling incorrect items.

So… is there any way to scale the HUD in the Edge peak mode via Vorpex? Or the way to disable mouse cursor movement but not headtracking? Or maybe somebody knows another way to rescale SkyUI menus? Maybe is there a setting in SkyUI settings I missed?

Please help 🙂

And btw, Ralf thank You for that amazing piece of software. Without It VR wouldn’t be the same.

Totally new to all this..
Followed some instructions to get gtav – vorpx – oculus working.
It worked the first time except i/m sitting in a lounge watching a game in a small square in stead full screen
Next I read I have to tweak in the in game menu (del key), all sorts of settings are mentioned but the menu only has three:
mod switch
vr mode
debug information
The second only pops up if i enable the fist.
Any relation to the settings I need to change to get full(er) screen is lost on me.
Any logic about me wanting to play a game looking at a small windows inside a vr view sitting in a lounge in stead of full screen is lost on me either btw.
I guess I’m lost.
What am I missing?

Menu scaling is not available in EdgePeek mode on purpose. With a lot of games menus aren’t always fully usable while being scaled (Fallout Pipboy is a prominent example), that’s why it gets scaled back in EdgePeek mode.

The next vorpX version will have head tracking without mouse simulation for Skyrim though. A nice side effect of this is that it solves the glitch you describe since the cursor won’t move anymore when you move your head.

Hi all,
Can anyone confirm if Automobilista works with cv1 ?

I’m guessing it could be setup with an rfactor profile (im new to all this )

Cheers

Does that mean aiming will be decoupled? If solving that glitch will be only side effect I wonder what can be the purpose of this update, and decoupled aiming is the only thing I can think about. If Yes they should give You the Nobel prize 🙂

P.S. Any chances new version will be released before Christmas? 🙂

No, aiming will not be decoupled. That’s something that has to be supported by the game itself. The main purpose of this easier setup. And yes, it will be before Christmas.

Ralf,do you think it would be possible to obtain faster/smoothness of head movement using the new tracking straight when replacing the current head tracking mouse?

PD:Take two days, doing some tests and practices with Skyrim
I’ve got some interesting results with CV1,1920×1440 resolution, hight quality Skyrim launcher,(strix Asus 1080 GTX, and i7 overclocking above +4.0 ghz)

between 45-62 Fps get outdoors, indoors, well above even 89 fps often.
(Only 6 mod installed at the moment, to improve VR experience
no cameras sway 1st and 3st, moderate speed running e.t.c.)

However, I would like to improve tracking even more.
I have periodically some annoying effects, although I’m not completely sure if it’s only tracking, vibration due to timewarp, stutter,or all together 🙂
I have tested with mouse acceleration On/Off in SkyrimPref.ini,Skyrim.ini and vorpx menu.
Skyrim is awesome with Vorpx in Cv1,but I would like to improve a little more, head tracking and performance, before continuing with other mod carefully, and wait for the new version of Skyrim (remastered edition)to continue testing, and finally start.

I agree about adding better documentation for the supported games. In PDF-document there should be a part about supported games and fine adjustments because at start you get advisable about resolution, so we need a guide with fine adjusment and with proper 3D settings. And yes that would be good to Vorpx´s reputation.
You can also google about Oculus and Hive native supported games which dont need Vorpx to work properly.
<offtopic> I have my own trouble to get Alien Isolation work right in native mode, runtime 1.9 DK2. Old guides talks about changing oculus to prime monitor but that is old knowledge. Alien Isolation works in native mode in my TV 😀 , so any one got some new tips about that?</offtopic>
